Wrapped up in "Lost"

There may not be any new reviews for a bit as I'm racing against the clock (ha ha) to watch Season 5 of "Lost" in time for the season 6 premiere on February 2nd. Which really has become something of a television event--the White House has agreed to not pre-empt the show with the 'State of the Union' address. Now that is powerful television!

As fans everywhere have noted - this show is addictive. Very addictive. Even after not watching any "Lost" for a few months, it only took about twenty minutes into the first episode of Season 5 before I was re-pulled in to the lore of the island: will the Oceanic 6 return to the island? if so - how will this happen? when will this happen? And, so on ;)

For those of you readers who are also "Lost" fans - who's your favorite islander...Jack...Kate...Sawyer...Sun? And, why?

What's on the Tube

"Modern Family" (Continues to be hysterical!!!)
"The Office" (I'll admit, there was time in the not-too-recent past that I'd thought my beloved "Office" was on the verge of being stale. As if! Reinvention has been underway for some time and one of the recent episodes had me in stitches the entire 22 minutes. Loving the expansion of Darryl's character. And, know he's be psyched with my conversion to the Nook :)
"The Good Wife" (for the most part, the second season is very strong and it seems like they are setting up some very juicy storylines!)
"30 Rock" (I guess if you put rock in the name, then you will...you know....rock. And they do.)
"Law & Order: SVU" (Yes, we still DVR it but...most of the time, after we watch it, we wonder why...even ask it aloud. SVU, sadly, has jumped the shark and there's no goin' back. I will say I do enjoy some of the unintentional comedy when Olivia, Elliott or both are so over the top)
"How I Met Your Mother" (I don't know if I can wait to find out who the mother is any longer. The show started five years ago, which coincided with my oldest nephew's birth. He is now in kindergarten; why hasn't Ted found her already?!)
"Men of a Certain Age" - I really liked this show when it debuted last year however had to temporarily drop it as there was actually too much to watch last year. Glad it was renewed, will had to play catch up via Netflix. (TNT's great new dramedy about men at mid-life. All-star lineup includes Ray Romano, Andre Braugher & Scott Bakula. Not to mention - great soundtrack!!)
